Rabbit Hole is an artistic collective, cultural association and platform aiming to generate and sustain an inclusive space for the showcasing of contemporary art and artists as well as its own artistic productions promoting alternative ideas, critical thinking and experimentation. Rabbit Hole´s members are from backgrounds as broad as economics, dance, political science, performance, cinema, photography, among others. We define no hierarchies amongst the mediums through which our artistic projects are generated, from theatre to installations, debates, exhibitions, cinema programs, performances, parties/techno raves and academic articles. Through our work we investigate upon queer utopias, non-normative bodies and identities, technology as a possibility for the transcendence of cultural givens and binds as well as the engendering of spaces for the fruition of these possibilities. Rabbit Hole is an official cultural association based in Lisbon since 2013 and has partnered with diverse cultural institutions across the country and internationally such as Galeria Zé dos Bois, the Portuguese Cinema Museum in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy, malavoadora.porto and Spektrum Berlin. We are supported by Rua das Gaivotas6, a cultural space dedicated to the showcasing of emerging performance artists and collectives. Rabbit hole has been funded by several cutural structures such as Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Fundação GDA and the Municipality of Lisbon for the development and production of its many artistic projects.
